Calry 200 Fund

At several points this year we advertised that giving would go to the Calry 200 Fund. This money was divided 50:50 between the Parish and three charitable organisations – a local one, a national one and an international one. Three cheques for €624 have just been sent to Sligo Food and Furniture Bank, Protestant Aid and CMSI (for our link diocese of Kindu in DR Congo). Thank you to everyone who gave! These are all very worthwhile causes.

Incredible Physical Achievements

Congratulations to Emma Stuart on winning her latest ultra-marathon event: Sweden's Kullaberg - a 100 mile race around the  Swedish coast through rocky mountains and forests. She was the fastest woman and was 4th overall - not bad out of 709 runners!

Richard Potter has just completed the gruelling Bhutan Snowman Trek. It is approximately 220 miles and took about 35 days. It involved climbing heights of more than 16,000 ft. Richard started with another mountaineer who sadly had to pull out as the punishing conditions took their toll. What was unusual was that both men are amputees.

Extra Prayer Points

  • Valentine, Anastasia, Alexander and Daniella as they grieve
  • The Alpha Course
  • youth and children’s ministry
  • those suffering in war zones around the world

…Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people;

and he will appear a second time not to bear sin,

but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
