DRC
Thank you very much to those of you who have already given something for the emergency relief fund for Kindu. As a result of the fighting with various rebel groups in the east the cost of essential items has doubled.
Linda from CMS Ireland writes:
A transfer of funds to Kindu is pending and planned for next week. Archbishop Masimango will use this to assist the most vulnerable with food stuffs. This type of distribution has been taking place in secret in the other dioceses as the need is so great, if it became widely known that help was available, the church would be swamped. There are tens of thousands of displaced people in the cities where our partners live.
Please pray and advocate for the people of DRC whose sorrow and suffering is largely ignored by the international systems of politics and media.
CMS Ireland have a Zoom prayer meeting at 1.00 pm on Ash Wednesday for more information and to pray together. To register go to: www.cmsireland.org/pray
